See where your money went. Drop in a bank CSV and it is sorted the moment it lands.
or · CSV from your bank or card
Not from the statements page — that gives PDFs. Sign in on a desktop browser, click into the account itself, and look for a download link above the list of transactions. Pick Excel or CSV and the months you want.
At Bank of America it is a small download icon just above the transactions, once you are inside an account. If that link lands you on a sign-in page, sign in and click it again.
Download generously: re-importing a month changes nothing, so overlapping ranges are safe. Load every account — money moved between them is recognised as an internal transfer, not spending.
Cash counts as spending when you take it out, not when you spend it. A statement cannot see the second, but you can:
Whatever you leave stays as Cash spending, which means money gone and unaccounted for.
A deposit is not a withdrawal coming back. Money paid in is new money arriving, and the statement cannot say where from — so the two never cancel. $300 taken out and $1,200 paid in is $300 spent and $1,200 arrived, not $900 back.
Your bank's CSV only contains transactions that have already posted, so anything still pending has to be logged here by hand. When the real charge lands in a later import it is matched and removed automatically.
Money that came back from a merchant. These are netted off your category totals, so a returned sofa does not leave you looking like you spent one.
Cash deposited, and money sent to you by another person. Not a refund of anything — it is netted against cash and external transfers rather than a shop.
